Is It Time for a Fresh Start? Let’s Talk!

Written by Admin | Jan. 09, 2020

The holidays are over and it’s time (again) for New Year’s Resolutions. But instead of challenging yourself in January by vowing to lose weight or get organized, why not resolve to make things easier on yourself? This year try doing some self-care by making your home the target of those resolutions for improvement.

We’re rested and ready to go for the New Year, so we’re eager to talk to you about what you may have found lacking in your home as you were busy entertaining and concentrating on your family in December.

Think about what you would like to have updated in your home by the time the craziness of the winter holidays rolls around again this year. Bring us your list and we’ll do the rest. Here are some suggestions to get you started planning home improvements.

For Guests and Entertaining

If you did any holiday entertaining, you probably noticed that guests like to gather in the kitchen. Opening up the floor plan to connect the kitchen to the family room would allow guests to move more easily in and around the space.

An island can play a big part in creating comfortable places for non-cooks to socialize in the kitchen. Island options can include an extra prep sink and an undercounter fridge so guests can help themselves to snacks and drinks. The island provides a convenient spot to serve food buffet-style, and bar stools are also a great addition.

Would a finished basement provide just the extra room you need to entertain a crowd? Imagine a fully stocked wet bar and a separate play space for the kids. We bet that a full bathroom in the basement would also be very handy to have when out-of-town guests come to visit.

For Everyday Life

Now think about what special rooms you’d love to have that would be helpful during the holidays AND all year long.

A mud room to handle all the coats and boots? A laundry room so you can keep up with clean table linens, towels and sheets? A home office where you can just close the door and lock the household paperwork away, out of sight? Maybe even an updated master bathroom where you could pamper yourself at the end of a busy day? When it comes to making your home more comfortable and functional, the possibilities are endless.
