Forty years ago, in 1978, Qualified Remodeler magazine started ranking the Top 500 remodeling firms in the United States. Today it is the longest ongoing, and one of the most coveted, remodeling industry recognition programs. All remodeling companies in the United States are eligible to enter but only 500 are selected.
To qualify for this honor, a remodeling firm must be a US remodeling firm and demonstrate significant and sustained success in these areas of business:
- Installed remodeling dollar volume
- Industry association membership
- Industry awards
- Total years in business
- Certifications and accreditations
- Community service
Third party verification of installed remodeling volume is also a requirement to be a Top 500 winner.
2018’s Qualified Remodeler’s Top 500 remodelers range in size from approximately $2,251,000 in annual remodeling revenue to $674,270,000. In terms of number of projects for the year, the range is from 6 to 179,577 projects.
