It’s only January, but we’ve already abandoned our resolution to be more organized. How about you? So instead of talking about ways to sort and file all your stuff, we’ll give you some fresh ideas for making your life easier by updating your kitchen and bath fixtures and appliances.

Each year, the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) sponsors the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS), a spectacular event where more than 500 companies representing the industry’s leading brands present new ideas for kitchen and bath design, technology, and sustainability. The latest product introductions have us inspired to share these kitchen remodeling and bathroom updates. We can put it all to work for you, in the rooms where you spend so much of your time!

Remodeling Trends from the 2018 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show

LG Smart InstaView™ Refrigerator from the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS)

LG Smart InstaView™ Refrigerator

Putting the “App” in Appliances

The LG Smart InstaView™ adds more features to a previous model refrigerator that introduced a door that turns transparent with just two knocks on it, allowing you to see inside the refrigerator without opening the door. Now you can access a variety of Wi-Fi enabled features directly on the refrigerator door or use Amazon’s Alexa to search recipes, play music, place Prime-eligible orders from Amazon.com including groceries, and more. A camera captures images of the interior which are accessible via smartphone, using the LG SmartThinQ™ app, in case you need to check what you need while out grocery shopping.

LG TWINWash™ front-load washer with LG SideKick™ pedestal washer from the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS)

The LG TWINWash™ front-load washer with LG SideKick™ pedestal washer is a new combo that lets you run two separate loads at once or independently. The TWINWash is Wi-Fi enabled, so you can check when the wash is done, download additional cycles and more, using the same LG SmartThinQ™ app as the LG InstaView refrigerator. The LG SideKick is a one-cubic foot pedestal washer that can be placed under the TWINWash washer (or any LG washer from 2009-present) and is ideal for small loads such as delicates, active wear, and intimates.

Dacor’s Four-Door FreshZone Plus French Door Refrigerator from the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS)

Dacor’s Four-Door FreshZone Plus French Door Refrigerator

While most French door refrigerators are designed with horizontal bottom freezer drawers, Dacor’s all-new Four-Door FreshZone Plus French Door Refrigerator boasts counter-height vertical freezer doors that align with surrounding cabinetry for a seamless look and feel. The FreshZone Plus compartment provides flexible storage options by easily converting to either refrigerator or freezer temperatures. Door-mounted, Wi-Fi-enabled cameras in the Dacor Four-Door Refrigerator let you peek at the contents of your refrigerator from anywhere using your smartphone, via the Dacor Kitchen iQ app.

A Fix for Your Fixtures

NASONI’s Fontanina Fountain Faucet elegantly brings a combination of water fountain and water faucet to your bathroom sink. Today’s bathroom faucet is really only suited to washing your hands, but with this new design, you won’t have to cup your hands to rinse after brushing your teeth or to splash your face to rinse makeup off before bedtime.

If one of your resolutions is to reduce the time you need to spend on routine maintenance, you’re in luck. American Standard and Lysol have joined forces to introduce the VorMax Plus, a new self-cleaning toilet that infuses Lysol cleaner into every flush. The VorMax Plus FreshInfuser is hidden in an out-of-sight, but easy-to-access, compartment behind the seat that cleans without an unsightly add-on device in the bowl. Each FreshInfuser lasts up to 30 days (360 flushes) and is as easy to change as a Brita water filter.

No more filling, checking, pouring out or rechecking to get the exact amount of water for a recipe.
